Last Night Adventures
What do I normally do on Tuesday….nada…
but this weeks Tuesday was action packed. A couple of buddies and I headed over to Brewster’s Pub and The Pit for some PBR and metal.
We missed the first band downfall, but it didn’t matter. We were there to see one of our favorite local bands, Snore. Their songs Thin and Geronimo are quite good. They label themselves as Grime, Experimental, and Alternative. I label them as a new beginning of rock. The show was great…way to go to guys.
The next band was, Philler out of Daytona Beach. I like marketing and I can appreciate gimmicks, but I hate it in the music industry. This band is extremely gimmicky with matching outfits, singing through a bullhorn, make-up, extreme hair….picture Orgy without Blue Monday. Anyway…they were decent, but I think they would of been better without all the hype.
My crew and I then headed over to the wonderful Steamworks in 5 points for a meeting of the beards with The Jacksonville Beardsmith Society. It’s a local chapter of Beard Team USA. It’s really just a reason for us to grow beards and drink beer! You can follow us on all of our sites:
TAL 2003
Well I’ve made it. It’s been 7 months of listening to the “This American Life” radio show available on their website (www.thisamericanlife.org) and I’ve now hit year 2003.
One of the most interesting things about listening to a show, that covers current events, backwards is the way you remember events changes. You first get to hear about the results of the scandal and then you get to listen to all the events leading up to it and speculation that is wrong.
At certain points you can even feel a little cocky with your knowledge of the future…like you know what’s up and how could they not see a recession coming or of course that guy is going to win the presidency.
If you ever have a chance to listen to this show then go check it out at www.ThisAmericanLife.org and for anybody who is not sure about it then go check this episode out. It’s my absolute favorite: 20 Acts in 60 Minutes
Cedar Point 2009
In an unexpected move last Thursday. My lady and I decided to drive Lake Erie in Sandusky, OH for the Cedar Point 2009 Experience.
This was my second trip, but Jessie’s first. She was blow away!
We of course took a couple videos of Top Thrill Dragster. My favorite ride of all time.
A couple different things
A couple little updates:
1. I started a new job this past week. I’ve left the fast paced, time consuming black hole of marketing and have now entered the wondrous world of accounting…
2. I’ve also decided to head back to school for web development (the new job allows for this…yesssss!)
3. I’m also starting a little computer company that can pretty much handle any computer needs, but our main service will be for personal computer on-site desktop support. Our website is still underdevelopment, but when it’s up….you’ll know…Oh! you will know. My good friend Karen of www.CMYKaren.com designed our great logo. Check out her projects and previous work. It’s pretty damn cool!
4. After checking out my stats on this site I’ve found that Aladdin is no longer a heavily searched topic. It has moved to Cartagena and Colombia. This week I plan on typing up my experiences from the trip and posting them…finally. (its only been like 4 months….geez)
4(a). Also….one of my top searched words was badassness. I just felt that was awesome!
